Shelley – Dental Assistant

I have worked in dentistry for over 30 years, and have been with Sumner Smiles since 2000. I love the interactions with patients and I enjoy making them feel comfortable and at ease. The job is so interesting, each patient has a different need, and each case is different. Dentistry today is exciting and the field of dentistry is constantly changing. It keeps me on my toes! The technology is incredible and Dr. Nielsen with our entire team is committed to remaining on the cutting edge, in both areas of high tech dentistry and patient experience. It is a great feeling to still love your job after all these years!

I truly respect Dr. Nielsen both as a person and as a dentist. I admire how she loves her patients and wants to create a wonderful dental experience for them. When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children.

Jessica – Dental Hygienist

I graduated Dental Hygiene school in 2003, and have been a practicing hygienist ever since. I am known to have a gentle yet thorough touch, I work hard to build relationships with my patients so they feel completely at ease when they come in for their appointment. It is also very important to me that patients understand all aspects of their care and feel comfortable asking questions, I love when patients who previously didn’t enjoy dental visits begin to look forward to coming in to see me. When I’m not at work, you can find me cheering on my two kiddos at their various extracurricular activities, or enjoying the outdoors in Orting where we live.
